I received New York Junk’s debut album “Passion of the 10th St. Blues NYC ’77” at the end of June 2010 and although I had heard some of their tracks on their MySpace page (and thought they were awesome), I still didn’t know what to expect. What I heard blew me away.
Have you ever felt/experienced this?
Upon and whilst hearing “Passion of the 10th St. Blues…” it felt like FINALLY this is THE album I’ve been longing for. I couldn’t (and still can’t) get enough of it. I had/have the album on repeat. It has the WOW factor. It felt like although I wasn’t around to witness the Punk movement of the 70′s, I could have easily been in CBGB’s or some other New York club witnessing New York Junk for myself! I LOVE the guitar sounds, and I believe that Joe Sztabnik is the only person I’ve heard play that could actually give the late-great Johnny Thunders a run for his money!
I absolutely adore this band and if you’re ever fortunate enough to go to a gig of theirs – DO IT. You won’t regret it.
